Emily Downes is an image-based ceramic artist who completed her BFA at State University of New York at New Paltz in 2021 and completed the Post Baccalaureate program at Tyler School of Art and Architecture.

Downes explored various themes and aesthetics across their body of work, including nostalgia, American exceptionalism and its contrasting ideas, as well as leisure, comic books, and understanding the ethics and lack thereof that hang in the balance.
